From This Moment On
On VE Day, we join you in remembering the wartime generation. The current situation will sadly not allow the full commemorations planned across Great Britain. However, we hope that you can take and bring some comfort to neighbours, friends and family by commemorating the 75th anniversary ending War in Europe at a ‘social distance’ on driveways and gardens or virtually.
In this edition, we bring your attention to the Government assisted scheme, referred to as the Bounce Back Loan, share Steph McDonald’s ‘Desert Island Discs’ selection and our usual range of distraction ideas.
Bounce Back Loan and Financial Planning
The Government’s new assistance scheme for small business went live this week. It provides a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 on generous terms for qualifying small businesses. Full details are in Your Business on our Wellbeing HUB.

Desert Island Discs From HarperLees
After mentioning the BBC podcast in last week’s edition, it prompted the HarperLees team to think about our choices. First up is Steph McDonald with her 8 songs, book and luxury item:
The Deeper The Love – Whitesnake – My husband loves rock music and Whitesnake is one of his favourite bands, somehow an acoustic version of this became our first dance at our wedding.
From This Moment On – Shania Twain – I love Shania Twain and have even seen her in concert.
Into the Unknown – Idina Menzel – Yes, it is from Frozen II but when you have had to play it as many times as I have in the car for the kids, you would learn to love it too!
The Greatest Showman – Hugh Jackman – Love the film, love the song.
Summer of ’69 – Bryan Adams – When better to ‘air guitar’ than when stuck on a desert island.
Don’t Call Me Up – Mabel – One of very few modern artists on my playlist, but her songs are catchy.
Supermarket Flowers – Ed Sheeran – A bit of a tearjerker, but so lovely.
I Will Survive – Gloria Gaynor – Cannot resist singing this one out loud, although I am sure others would prefer I didn’t.
Book – The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins – I couldn’t put it down.Â
Luxury item – Matches. Definitely a tough one for a girl who likes her luxuries, but I would be useless at starting a fire and cannot stand being cold!
