Lockdown 2 – The Sequel (that nobody wanted)

By HarperLees

We had scheduled a newsletter for this week with more positive (and entertaining) content. However, with the announcement that we must all go to the new ‘Tier 4’ lockdown, we have decided to defer our plans to next week.

Today, we will be closing our office with the team working at home again until Thursday 3 December. That said, we have already proved from ‘Lockdown 1’ that this is manageable and we remain available as usual.

It is evident that another lockdown brings significant pressure on our collective wellbeing and naturally financial pressures on many businesses. To share a few suggestions that may help:

  • Set your own personal lockdown challenges – maybe those that we did not quite find time for during Lockdown 1?
  • Set the alarm a little earlier – start your day with a walk, run or cycle, or just to sit in the garden or local park (hot tea or coffee recommended!).
  • For the ‘home workers’, maybe reorganise your working day to allow time out in the daylight. Turn the phone off for that time to get away from the noise of constant emails.
  • Limit our exposure to the endless news updates – maybe turn off the news notifications on your smartphone.
  • Whilst tempting to use the large online retailers, where possible, please seek out local businesses – many seem to be offering ‘click and collect’ or even home delivery services.
