Supporting young people on their journey into sport

By HarperLees

In last month’s newsletter, we explained that we’re donating to our chosen charity of the year, Kids Inspire, in lieu of sending Christmas cards.

As well as our regular donations to this charity, we have previously sponsored Witham Rugby Club’s ladies’ team. And now we’re working with them again to support young people as they get started in the sport.

Giving the younger generation a head start in sport

Some of you may already know that our director Steph spends her weekends throwing herself around the rugby pitch (apparently for “fun”!).

But what you may not know is that we found the newest member of our paraplanner team, Jess, through her love of rugby, too.

So, of course, we couldn’t resist an opportunity to get both members of HarperLees posing with our board at the club.

Jess has moved on from Witham Rugby Club, jumping up two leagues due to her amazing abilities on the field. However, Steph has stayed at Witham, eagerly awaiting her call-up to the England squad when Botterman retires.

This year, we were offered the opportunity to help the younger generation in the sport and sponsor one of the youth teams, and of course, we jumped at the chance.

At HarperLees, we have an ethos of supporting young people in their journey. As parents themselves, Steph and fellow director Mark absolutely understand the importance of getting young people involved in sport.

We are thrilled to announce that we’ve sponsored the combined Under-13s/14s team at Witham Rugby Club, and their lovely new shirts are emblazoned with our logo.

Here is Steph’s son Archie modelling the shirt beautifully. We have already had feedback that they have won their first few matches, which is incredible for a team who were initially struggling.

We can’t wait to hear about their successes over the rest of the season.
